Maggie Cino, director
A former Senior Producer for the Peabody and MACEI award-winning organization, The Moth, Maggie has directed storytelling shows nationally and internationally at venues including BAM, Lincoln Center, and the mainstage of the Sydney Opera House. The hundreds of stories she discovered and developed are featured on the Moth Radio Hour and in their NYT best-selling books. Her environmentally staged production of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters won two 2017 Innovative Theater Awards and was nominated for two more, including Outstanding Revival of a Play. Time Out NY gave the production three stars and lauded her for “bringing the audience into this world of the idle rich. The cast's performances mine the often-overlooked comedy inherent in Chekhov, evoking an Arrested Development circa pre-revolutionary Russia.” She recently directed and devised Lost Adult: Answers to Any Name (From the McSweeney’s Internet Tendency essays of author Dan Kennedy) at the Brick Theater, where she also directed the world premier of Bonedive Scrounger. She has received numerous awards as a playwright including the FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award. The Villager called her “A writer of extraordinary versatility and imagination” and Time Out NY says “Cino has a gift.” She is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater. maggiecino.com
